Winter Calendar

The Elkhorn Penguins Swim Team is a private non-profit organization that provides an opportunity for children in the Elkhorn area to participate in competitive swimming.

Are the Penguins a year round swim team? Yes, the Penguins run three sessions per year. (Fall, Winter, Spring)

Where do the Penguins practice? The Elkhorn Penguins practice at the Elkhorn Area High School Pool. See our driving directions for instructions on how to get there. Our home meets are held at the High School.

How often do the Penguins practice? Typically the Penguins practice 3 times a week - although this can vary depending on meets & other scheduling issues, like access to the pool.

How old do you have to be to participate in the Penguins? While age is a consideration with our program, we also must evaluate each swimmers ability. During registration new swimmers are encouraged to "try out" for the team and have the coaches evaluate whether they can handle the practice and competition load of the program.

How many swimmers are in the Penguins? While the number of swimmers active in the penguins varies from session to session, we usually have between 50 and 75 swimmers on the team for a given session.
